Judge Fred Gore brings a lifetime of service, judicial temperament, and real courtroom experience to the campaign for the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Born and raised in Southeastern North Carolina, Fred learned the importance of hard work, family values, and community service at an early age. Having presided over thousands of criminal, civil, domestic, and juvenile matters as a District Court Judge, he understands the real-world impact that court decisions have on the lives of North Carolina families and small businesses.
Judge Gore believes firmly in judicial restraint. A judge’s role is not to legislate from the bench or reshape the law to fit personal convictions, but to uphold the Constitution of North Carolina and the United States as written, ensuring equal justice under the law for every individual who enters the courtroom.
Throughout his tenure, Judge Gore has earned a reputation for fairness, firmness, and a calm, decisive demeanor on the bench. His comprehensive courtroom background as both prosecutor and judge gives him the broad perspective necessary for appellate review.
